Term : Part-time

Hours: 10 hours per week

The Maverick Volleyball Club serves Ottawa and its surrounding communities in providing our youth with high-quality volleyball programs. Our Club takes pride in our successful track record of promoting and fostering leadership, organizational, team, and life skills for the benefit of its members. Maverick Volleyball is seeking experienced individuals to operate the clothing and merchandising portfolio for the organization, as a key member of the staff.
Job Summary
Maverick Volleyball is seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Bookkeeper to assist in the management of the organization’s financial operations. This is a part-time, fully remote position with flexible working hours, ideal for a self-motivated individual who thrives in a collaborative and mission-driven environment.
Key Responsibilities include:
Full-Cycle Accounting & Financial Recordkeeping
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date financial records
- Record and reconcile all financial transactions
- Prepare monthly bank reconciliations
- Create purchase orders in QuickBooks Online (QBO) and reconcile invoices
Accounts Management
- Monitor and manage accounts receivable and accounts payable
- Ensure timely settlement of invoices and dues
Tax & Compliance Reporting
- Prepare and file corporate tax and HST returns
- Ensure compliance with applicable tax regulations
Payroll Administration
- Process payroll for staff and coaches
- Complete source deductions and government remittances
General Financial Support
- Perform other bookkeeping and financial tasks as needed
- Collaborate with the Finance Director and other stakeholders
Essential Qualifications
Experience
- Minimum 3 years of bookkeeping or accounting experience, preferably in a non-profit or small business environment
- Demonstrated experience with QuickBooks Online and full-cycle accounting
- Experience managing payroll, tax filings, and accounts receivable/payable
Competencies & Skills
- Strong organizational and time management skills
- High attention to detail and accuracy
- Ability to work independently and remotely
- Effective communication and collaboration skills
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel
- In-depth knowledge of QuickBooks Online (QBO)
- Familiarity with Canadian tax and payroll regulations
Education
- Post-secondary education in Accounting, Finance, or a related field
Asset
Language
- Bilingual (English, French)
