Head Coach - Competitive Travelling
Position Reports to: Program Coordinator, Traveling Teams
Term : Seasonal
Honorarium: $1 650 to $3 750 based on years of experience and certifications, paid semi-annually

Job Summary
The Head Coach of competitive travelling programs is responsible for providing quality coaching and leadership to a competitive team. This includes, developing an appropriate yearly seasonal training plan, planning and executing practices, coaching tournaments and games, managing athletes' expectation and goals, communicating with athletes and parents as well as some other administrative tasks.
Key Responsibilities include:
- Planning and executing practices based on a yearly seasonal training plan
- Coaching tournaments and games
- Managing athletes’ growth, expectation and goals
- Continued coach development
- Develop and adjust an appropriate yearly seasonal training plan
- Communicating with athletes and parents about schedule, etc.
- Completing administrative tasks
Essential Qualifications
Experience
- Minimum 3 years of competitive coaching
Competencies & Skills
- Mastery of various coaching & learning theories and strategies - To help athletes develop their abilities, a coach needs to know and be to implement the latest science-based coaching & learning theories
- Effective planning - Long-term planning is essential in the development of athletes
- Clear and effective communication - Effective communication is key to ensuring athlete role satisfaction
Education
- NCCP Development Coach Certification is preferred
- NCCP Advanced Development Coach is an asset
Language
- Bilingual (English, French) - Asset
